Lesson chapters and transcript

00:00 · Getting started: catalog and prices

From the workspace, click Open program to enter the project manager. First prepare your catalog and prices, then create a project and drawings for four different systems. Every action is recorded in the actual application. Start by preparing your catalog. Open Settings, then Systems and profile catalog. This is an isolated training company. The prices, codes and weights in this lesson are fictional examples. Enter your supplier's actual specifications in your working company. Enter the aluminum price per kilogram and save the settings. Give the system a clear name and series code. Save these general settings before editing individual profiles. PVC profiles use separate prices per linear meter. In the profile card, enter its code, name and weight per meter, then save the profile. Complete every profile used in your work. Take actual weights and geometry from the technical catalog for your selected series. Next, open Accessories. Fill in the article code and unit price, and check the currency. The fifty-cent value shown here is only a training example. Finish by saving the settings. In Mechanisms, find the required set and enter a description and price for its variant. Different opening types can require different sets. Complete each variant you use: a price entered for one set does not price all the others. Enter manufacturing and installation labor rates per square meter for each system. An empty field means the rate is missing; zero means the work is free. New projects receive these settings. Updating an existing project's rates requires a separate action. For glass and panels, enter the price and weight per square meter. Check the glass unit's name, thickness and material type. Before issuing a final quotation, make sure every material and mechanism used in the project has a complete price.

02:32 · Project and thermal aluminum

Create a training project and enter its name, number and location. This example contains no real customer information. Saving opens the project's positions page. Add a new position and choose the thermal aluminum system. Enter the columns, rows, overall width and height in millimeters. Confirm the dimension with Enter, then check the number on the drawing. This example has two columns, a width of eighteen hundred and a height of fifteen hundred millimeters. Select the cell on the drawing, assign a tilt-and-turn opening, and choose the glass unit and mechanism variant. A missing-price label means that item still needs attention. Saving a position does not mean its final cost is complete. The saved position now appears in the project gallery.

03:39 · Measure and place dimensions

Open the existing position for editing and click Measure. Choose horizontal, vertical or free measurement. Zoom with the mouse wheel, then select the horizontal direction. Click the first and second points on the drawing. The measured distance is eighteen hundred millimeters. Add a comment if needed. Editing the displayed measurement changes only the label, not the construction geometry. Choose Save and place, then click to position the dimension line. Close the measurement panel, reset the zoom and save the position. With display enabled, the measurement also appears in the drawing PDF.

04:27 · Facade: grid, joints and glass

Add a facade position to the same project and choose the training facade system. Enter three columns, two rows, a width of thirty-six hundred and a height of three thousand millimeters. Confirm with Enter and check the six cells on the drawing. Here, the columns are twelve hundred and the rows fifteen hundred millimeters. In the facade controls, enter the top and bottom profile extensions. Both are fifty millimeters in this example. Add a vertical profile joint at fifteen hundred millimeters measured from the bottom. The joint is then labeled on the drawing. For an actual job, use values from the approved technical design. All facade cells are fixed in this example. On the glass step, select all cells and assign the four-sixteen-four glass unit. A fixed cell does not need opening hardware, so its mechanism control is disabled. Finish the position and check that the facade appears in the project gallery.

05:34 · Sliding: leaves, tracks and hardware

Next, add a sliding position. Select the training sliding system and enter a width of twenty-four hundred and a height of twenty-one hundred millimeters. The sliding leaf arrangement is configured on the Elements step using templates and track settings. Open the sliding templates and select template six. The drawing now has three moving leaves on three tracks. The overall width is divided into three equal eight-hundred-millimeter sections. Each section shows its type, movement direction and track number. Always review these settings after applying a template. Assign the glass unit to all three leaves, then review the sliding mechanism variant. This training set costs thirty-five dollars. Check that the selected set matches your actual hardware. Any missing-price warning must be resolved before a final quotation. Save the position and return to the project gallery.

06:34 · PVC profiles and window drawing

Before drawing PVC, prepare the profiles you will use. Enter a training code and name, then the white and colored profile prices per linear meter. Set the cutting angle, overall dimensions and visible dimensions. The numbers shown are fictional examples. Use your supplier’s precise specifications for real work, and complete the mullion, sash and glazing bead in the same way. Add a PVC position and choose the prepared PVC system. Check the white color, two columns and one row. Enter a width of sixteen hundred and a height of fourteen hundred millimeters. Confirm with Enter and check the drawing. Its labels display the article codes entered in the catalog. Select the left cell and review its opening. The right cell remains fixed. Check both glass units, then review the window hardware set. Save the position and return to the gallery with all four systems.

07:51 · Materials, offcuts, cutting and quotation

Complete each mechanism price separately. In this fictional example, the sliding set is thirty-five dollars, the ordinary window set twenty-five, and the tilt-and-turn set forty-five. Save the settings. Applying the updated catalog to an existing project requires a separate confirmation. Review profile lengths, glass, accessories and mechanisms in the materials report. The tables show quantity, unit price and amount. Fill any missing catalog prices before preparing a final estimate. In the estimate, enter transport costs and the markup on cost. This example uses fictional values of fifty dollars and twenty percent. Then open the offcut selection. Enable the offcut credit and change the selection. The amount updates immediately. Selected offcuts reduce the profile cost before markup and VAT are applied. Review the summary and save. This is a training estimate: the remaining catalog prices still need to be completed. The cutting plan groups profiles by article code. Check each cut length, quantity, saw kerf and remaining offcut. Here we review the thermal frame, PVC frame and a sliding profile. Review the document language and terms in the offer form. Help is grouped in one expandable section. Add a note identifying this as a training example, then open the preview. The document includes a summary and all four drawings. Issue a final version only after fully checking the data.
